Daruma handmade and handpainted in Sendai, Japan
Matsukawa Daruma Takara-Fune production is very limited and will maybe end soon, if you want one, please contact-us and we will put it aside for you.
Matsukawa Daruma are traditional Japanese lucky charm who have the distinction of having the eyes painted during manufacture, unlike the common models.
They observe in all directions in order to protect the family from all misfortunes. On their sides there is a decoration inspired by the Japanese character Kotobuki which means best wishes or congratulations.
This model has thick eyebrows, giving him a funny and imposing image. The Daruma is installed on the "Ship-treasure" (Takara-Fune ), the same boat that carried the seven legendary Gods of Happiness on our Noren Shichi Fukujin. The kanji written on the sailing boat means "Takara" (Treasure or luck).
The ultramarine blue is used since ancient times and was considered as noble color, especially for samurai.
Daruma are available in different sizes, colors and decorations.
