The term "wasshoi" means to "stay in harmony". This cheering up shout is heard during matsuri (Japanese festival) from the katsugi-te (mikoshi carriers). Mikoshi is a portable shrine carried during the procession. This young girl is dressing up with red happi (straight-sleeved coat) and shares her communicative joyfulness.
