The term "wasshoi" means "to stay in harmony". This cheering up shout is heard during matsuri (Japanese festivals) from the katsugi-te (mikoshi carriers). Mikoshi is a portable shrine carried during the procession. This young man dressed up with blue happi (Japanese straight sleeved coat) shares his communicative joyfulness.
